Pagosa Springs to Monticello

Today we traveled 269 miles from Pagosa Springs, Colorado to Monticello, Utah.

We started out driving through beautiful green valleys in Colorado, with very nice ranches. We climbed to our highest elevation so far, 8,239 feet above sea level.

Then we entered the Ute Indian Reservation and the land turned dry, flat, desolate, and brown. We could have been on the moon. Next, we entered the Navajo Nation, where the land was dry, flat, desolate, and red. We could have been on Mars.

Along the way we stopped at the Four Corners Monument.

Nana straddles Colorado and New Mexico. My left cheek is in Utah, my right cheek is in Arizona.

You put your right foot in Utah,
You put your left foot in Colorado,
You put your right hand in Arizona,
You put your left hand in New Mexico,
And you shake 'em all about.
You do the Hokey-Pokey,
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.

After that, we did see some interesting rock formations, like this in Bluff, Utah.

Finally, we arrived at our campground, Roughlock RV Park and The Line Camp Steak House. Poppa thinks they must have a creative genius for a web master. Actually,we enjoyed it and the people. Maybe a couple more pictures in the morning. I did get to try out my first ride:
