On the way back from the shower, Poppa saw another toad on the road, about the size of a 1-year-old fist (Hi, Tessa and Brenna!) Again, Poppa chased the toad off the road. It was even more unhappy about it and peed on Poppa's foot! No good deed goes unpunished!
This morning, Poppa was having coffee "on the front porch" when he got a call from Chris, one of his tennis buddies back home. Chris wanted to know if Poppa was back in Pittsburgh and ready to play tennis. Poppa said "No, I'm at Yosemite National Park in California!" Chris said he had just been in Las Vegas last weekend with a friend. Poppa said "Whoa! So were we! Wouldn't that have been cool if we had seen each other on the street?"
That reminds me - you've seen some of Poppa's "beerscapes". Here is one he did in Las Vegas that I forgot to post. He still can't find the beer with the picture of a fish:
Today we toured the high, southern part of Yosemite National Park.
This is where the rich people stay (the Wawona Hotel):
Poppa complained that it's hard to get pictures of the scenery here, because the trees get in the way:
Just kidding! Look at these:
Later I saw something that looked good for lunch, but I had trouble bringing it down:
I had to lower my goals - come on, just a little closer...
We saw more Giant Sequoias today. I feel sorry for the Ponderosa Pine on the left. He work SO hard at getting big,and then a Giant Sequoia moves into the next door:
I never thought I could do snow angels in May:
We got back to the campground this afternoon and Nana almost stepped on this guy:
Tomorrow we go back to Yosemite to explore the valley.
